Monthly Check In

So my apologizes, I've been dealing with loads of stuff over the past month. I have been working out and I can say that without stepping on a scale or whatnot, I feel so much better! I have more energy, I'm getting up in the morning easier. I can't believe the differences I am feeling after only what 24 days!

Anyway I found this on the website pinterest.com, I am not sure where the original came from, I believe it is backonpointe.tumblr.com as that's what it says on the actual picture. Anyway I have been using these workouts here as a base/warmup:

These workouts have been tremendously helpful. On top of those I have added in a few of the workouts that I use to do in swimming, creating cycles and such. As of right now my daily exercises can range anywhere between half hour to an hour long.

On the food end I have been buying more actual food and not so much canned and frozen. There is only so much I can do with the budget that I have but I have definitely been incorporating breakfast, which is an area that I lacked in before. I am drinking milk, eating more fresh veggies and cutting back on my Arnold Palmer consumption. I stopped drinking soda-pop Aug. 20 2010, so that wasn't to difficult. Now its just the struggle of being bored with water. Hopefully I don't run into any complications this weekend and I can stay true to my weekly updates.

My next challenge, after the snow melts, is to start walking in hopes that it leads to me being able to jog. I can say right now it is so hard for me to run its not even funny. I do have incentive now as I am doing my second triathlon this summer. Here we go!

Day 1

Hello everyone! So I am creating this blog because like millions of people in the world I have made it my new years resolution to loose weight, get healthy and get fit again. I can honestly say that I love my body and I love the way I look. However I am sick and tired of running out of energy. I've notice that there are things I do that before I could do without a sweat and now I feel like it is just so hard. I miss being fit and able to do things like, walk up three flights of stairs, and not get winded.

All my life I've been an athlete. I have been swimming from the ripe age of born, my father was a swim coach so I pretty much could swim before I could walk. I started competitive swimming at the age of six and continued for thirteen years. Once I started high school my swimming became more grueling, I was in the pool any where from  18-30hrs a week, dry land/cardio anywhere from10-20hrs. I was as fit as I ever was in my life, I weighed 150lbs and was a size 5 jean, it was amazing. During this time I was given the nickname "She-ra" and did I live up to it.

That was two years ago, I am now a sophomore in college. I have not weighed myself but I have gone up to a size 8 in jeans. There are things I could do without, love handles, my arms are a little more jiggly then they were and overall I just feel drained all the time.

So here is what I am going to do about it. I am going to work out, at least 4 to 5 times a week. I am going to watch what I eat and how much I eat. Overall I am going to have fun with this, however the outcome I am going to love my body no matter what. So follow me as I update once a week with my progression and how I am doing!
